Our beef suckler herd consists of 40 cows, who calve indoors during winter. The calves will stay with their mums until the following autumn when they are weaned and then are sold in spring through Hailsham Market.

Approximately half our arable area is used to grow wheat, barley, and oats, and the other half is in various stewardship schemes for wildlife, including crops to provide food and habitat for birds, mammals, and insects. We now regularly see red kites and buzzards and have flocks of sparrows, starlings, and finches. We have increasing numbers of swallows and swifts, and last autumn whilst we were cultivating and sowing the field below the pumpkin patch, we were surrounded by a huge number of house martins, which was a fantastic sight.

The pumpkin venture began in 2022, as all farms need to include diversification of some description in order to survive now. We have steadily grown bigger each year, but we want to keep our friendly and rustic charm; all the staff you will see in our orange tops are family! We will again be running the very popular 'Hunt the Golden Pumpkin' and 'Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin', and this year we have a VERY scary and spooky Pillbox in the wood for you to visit, if you dare.....
